The Dastkar Studio’s Journey
The Dastkar Studio was born from the shared vision of two creatives, Moeza Asif & Afshan Ansari, who brought together their diverse artistic backgrounds & passion for craftsmanship. Moeza, a textile & fashion designer turned self-taught artist, found new inspiration after moving to Australia, where she showcased her work through exhibitions & community art. Afshan, an interior designer & entrepreneur, blended her design expertise & boutique business experience with a love for nurturing creativity.
Together, they founded The Dastkar Studio a platform where art, craft, & culture come alive—a space to showcase their work, inspire others, & build a community that celebrates creativity & meaningful connections.
The role that interior designers & textile designers play, like the spaces they shape & the materials they create, is constantly evolving. As culture shifts driven by changes in the social & political landscape or advances in technology. So too do the ways we design & experience interiors & textiles.
I am Moeza Asif, a textile designer by education & a self-taught artist by passion. With a degree in Textile Designing from FJWU Pakistan & a Diploma in Fashion Designing from RIAD Institute, my creative journey has been shaped by both formal training & personal exploration.
Since moving to Australia in 2023, I have continued to showcase my work through exhibitions & community art stalls, gaining recognition & building meaningful connections within the art world. My volunteer contributions with the Mosaic Organization further enriched my creativity & strengthened my sense of community.
As the founder of The Dastkar Studio, I envision this platform as more than just an art space—it is the realization of a lifelong dream to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, & storytelling, while inspiring & connecting with others who share a love for art.
I am Afshan Ansari, an interior designer and creative entrepreneur with a Master’s degree in Interior Designing from the College of Home Economics, Lahore. My journey began in Pakistan, where I taught art and craft to children—an experience that nurtured my love for creativity and mentoring. I later expanded into entrepreneurship by establishing my own boutique business, which deepened my connection to design and strengthened my creative outlook.
I have called Australia home in 2020, where I have continued to explore my artistic path and grow within a new creative community.
